RBEF has been providing support to all RBUSD students, recognizing an excellent school system cannot rely solely on state funding. They support whole-child development for students from their first day of Kindergarten to their last day of High School. South Bay Lexus is honored to support the PCCH in their efforts of Hope and Health. This event benefits the Peninsula Committee Children’s Hospital (PCCH). Peninsula Committee Children’s Hospital (PCCH) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that raises money for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). Founded in 1957 when a group of women from the South Bay were asked to help generate funds for a new recovery unit at CHLA, PCCH has grown to more than 170 South Bay families who volunteer all year long with the shared goal of helping the kids who need it most. The committee sponsors the Portuguese Bend National Horse Show in early September, as well as the Seahorse Classic golf tournament in the spring. Over the past 60 years, PCCH has donated over 17 million dollars to CHLA. CHLA is dedicated to creating hope and building healthier futures for children. Founded in 1901, CHLA is one of the nation’s leading pediatric academic medical centers and is acknowledged worldwide for its leadership in pediatric and adolescent health. The hospital relies on the generosity of the community to support its groundbreaking pediatric research and the complex care it provides for critically ill and injured children. South Bay Lexus is proud to support Vista for Children. About Vista for Children, in 1978, Patty Sullivan founded Vistas for Blind Children in the South Bay of Los Angeles. Patty’s husband, Tom Sullivan, an author, composer and motivational speaker, was born premature and due to oxygen treatment while in an incubator has permanent blindness. Patty founded the organization to improve the lives of blind children. Vistas for Blind Children was renamed Vistas for Children with an expanded mission to include more than blind children in 2000. The mission of Vistas for Children is to raise and distribute funds for special needs children and be a system of support for those children and their families. It includes, but is not limited to, children who are multi-disabled, abused, homeless, terminally ill, foster children and children who suffer from pediatric illnesses, such as retinoblastoma (cancer of the eye). Kaia says, “Selling Girl Scout Cookies has taught me to work as a team to set our troop goals for cookie season. With our cookie earnings, my troop and I plan activities year-round and do important things to help our community. With this year’s cookie earnings, we will have fun activities, earn new badges, and help charities.”
